This piece is accompanied by its original 1985 Certificate of Authenticity, typed on Danny Sugerman’s personal letterhead (9000 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood) and dated October 17, 1985. In this one-page document, Sugerman—Jim Morrison’s close confidant, biographer (No One Here Gets Out Alive), and later manager of The Doors—formally certifies that the typescript was transferred on that day from Judith Sims’s personal archive and that the draft contains Jim Morrison’s genuine signature. Sugerman further states that the piece remained in Judy's private collection for 17 years until he facilitated its sale to the renowned auction house Profiles in History. This COA is not a generic third-party authentication; it is a direct, first-hand attestation from the band's inner circle, bridging the gap between the 1968 interview and its first emergence onto the collectible market.
