Original, hand-drawn illustration by Albert Uderzo, the legendary co-creator of Asterix, depicting Asterix holding a bottle of Potion Magique in his right hand while effortlessly carrying the entire figure of Obelix in his left arm. Obelix is rendered in faint pencil, while the finished elements combine encre de chine, brush pen, pencil, and gouache. Uderzo’s abbreviated signature appears in the bottom right corner. This is a rare, one-of-a-kind piece of original bande dessinée art—not a print or reproduction—and it offers a fascinating look at Uderzo’s working process, balancing bold inkwork with a ghosted pencil study of Obelix.
For collectors of Asterix, Obelix, and original European comic art, Uderzo originals are highly desirable and increasingly difficult to source. The composition is both iconic and playful: the magic potion, Asterix’s impossible strength, and the full weight of Obelix captured in a single pose. The artwork will be carefully packaged to ensure safe delivery, and shipping is available worldwide.
