Pinocchio, released by Walt Disney Productions on February 7, 1940, is the studio’s second animated feature film after Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937). Based on Carlo Collodi’s 1883 Italian novel The Adventures of Pinocchio, it tells the story of a wooden puppet who dreams of becoming a real boy. Though initially a box-office disappointment, it later gained acclaim as one of the greatest animated films ever made, celebrated for its artistry, storytelling, and groundbreaking animation.
